“Still I Rise”

“You may shoot me with your words” This Metaphor means that people really hurt her and put her down. But other people could not physically shoot her with their words.

“But still, like dust, I rise” This Simile means that no matter what she will still rise nor what people would say or do to her. She will still rise and she compares this to dust.

“You may kill me with your hatefulness” This metaphor is meaning that all of peoples hatefulness is very hurtful and terrible words. People could not actually kill her with hatefulness but thats what it felt like for her.
